Graceful Spirit, Divine Presence

With the summer dryness, and the lack of sufficient water, the hummingbirds have not visited so much at the park.  I certainly enjoyed my last visit, and was not at all surprised to see my friend after a heavy rain.  Has there ever been a time that rain has been so welcomed? 

So these days most of my hummingbird encounters have been at my home, and with the addition of a feeder outside my office window I am able to enjoy the visits from my little friends more often, and still practice the artificial means of communication called “blogging”.  I appreciate the warmer days, and often the window is ajar, allowing me to hear the quiet talking of the little female who rests nearby in the lilac tree.  These graceful spirits visit during calmer moments, when thoughs flow in design, not by force.  Divine presence attracts the Divine.

This particular bird is new to me, and tends to be a little more chaotic in her movement.  With the feeder just outside the window they so easily spook by my reach for the camera.  Windows create an odd illusion, appearing as something that seems to have no boundaries, yet creates one nonetheless.  These illusions are not so easily adopted by those gentle little spirits of the animal world.  It takes the “consciousness” and active mind of the human to accept an illusion and call it “reality”.  Sometimes I wonder who has the clearer perspective.
