After a 10 day absence I’ve returned to find the hummingbird feeders virtually empty . My first task of the morning: you guessed it, fill the feeders before my own breakfast. Fall is here, and the weather is notably different. On most of the hummingbird roosting places the leaves are dropping. Have my hummingbird friends vacated? The answer came quickly.
As I filled the back yard feeders I was greeted by the larger alpha male. He lingered as I filled the small feeders, knowing that nectar would soon be available. Within a very short time a young female visited the office window feeder. A sigh of relief followed, for I do not wish to leave these small but powerful winged wonders in an unfortunate situation.
As I wander back into my office I ask “what message can I share today”? Immediately I am shown the changing of the seasons. So often when we are in the midst of change we can feel swept away by the transitions. The secret? Creating a balance between change and the consistancy of self. But where do we find that consistancy of self? Are we not changing, learning and growing?
I believe that consistancy, or firm footing, comes from our commitment and sense of purpose. This is the part of us that will not waver when we trust in ourselves and our higher source. This is the part of us that creates the sails within the water that support our continuation. The wind can then gently guide us toward our next step.
