Last weekend I visited a local reiki class, giving a demonstration of a spiritual reading session and a global group healing for the participants. In between the individual clarity sessions with different participants I conversed with others only feet away from the hummingbird feeders.
These birds came in waves, with one or two arriving, then a whole group. Within a heartbeat, or a wing beat they would disappear. During this interlude I watched, occasionally speaking to these hungry birds. Some were more aggressive than others, pushing them away from the nectar. I noticed one such bird, remembering how I have felt when I’ve been shut out from participating. I offered to energetically hold a safe, sacred space for this little female hummingbird, and before I knew it she was resting comfortably. This feeder quickly became the haven for the female birds, and held this way for a long minute before the aggressive bird returned.
He fanned out his tail feathers, hovering in a most menacing way. At times his actions were carried out by charging the others at the feeder. Sometimes the hummingbird war dance was symbolic, with the feather demonstration followed by flight, not fight.
We are no different than the hummingbirds at the feeder. We give signals to others that at times could be called, “the bluff”, and at other times those indicators turn in to actions. Whether it is the gentle glance of love that suddenly turns in to eyes diverted, or the hint of commitment followed by inactivity it does not matter. Both carry the common tone. It all begins with the illusion that is a crossroad. We choose either act or lack. We choose whether we commit or we fly away.
Take the step into a higher conscious perspective of self through a private consultation. These sessions delve into the thoughts, dreams and actions that influence your life, and guide you to find clarity in your next step.
