Recently a reader commented: “Upon retirement this summer, I started walking my dog early in the mornings. A hummingbird was perched atop the tip/top of a queen palm. On my first and second days, I’d pass the tree, the bird started flying/hovering. I felt as if the bird was greeting both of us. I believe my dog was aware of the bird both times. Since then I’ve changed my route daily. I haven’t seen the bird since. But I will always remember our spiritual encounter.”
The Meaning of a Hummingbird Visit – Not so Coincidental!
Thank you for your contribution to the site, I do appreciate all the stories shared since it builds an even stronger belief in our subtle abilities and the existence of spirit.
You and I parallel in many ways. In my early stories, available here on the website, you can see my own connection with the hummingbirds. It is not my first encounter, but more of a renewal, as though I was being thanked for days past. Why was I not rewarded at the time I gave? I was, I had been given a sense of accomplishment, having rescued many hummingbirds from the frustration of windows that would not let them be free.
A Chance Encounter – Hummingbird Moments
I appreciate what you said about the repetition of similar experiences. No reflection on you, as I think you are a very aware person, but generally I think we are all a little dense, and need repetitions to get messages through our over-active brains. It was not just one visit but repetition that locked into believing.
That said, I think your encounters were clear, and the connection strong. You were open to seeing the hummingbird. You’d be surprised at how many people cannot see them, even when they are pointed out.
No worries on the disappearance of your hummingbird friend. My own, in the early days, disappeared, but many returned the following year. It may be a feeding issue. I now have year-rounders, now that they know that they are supported. Energy stays where it is accepted, yes?
Blessings, kindred spirit.
